In this video, Riccardo Coletta, Coordinator of the SUPERSHINE project at APRE – the Agency for the Promotion of European Research, explains how the project tackles energy poverty through innovative technical, financial and community-driven solutions.

SUPERSHINE focuses on three Lighthouse districts in Trieste (Italy), Riga (Latvia), and Herning (Denmark), where integrated interventions are being implemented in social and affordable housing. These actions combine energy efficiency measures, citizen engagement, innovative financing models, and principles from the New European Bauhaus, including inclusivity, sustainability, and aesthetics.

The project also supports Fellow Cities, enabling them to replicate successful approaches to energy efficiency, community participation, and sustainable financing across Europe.

SUPERSHINE contributes to European climate and social policies by delivering practical, scalable solutions that improve living conditions while reducing emissions.
