The event, held online, was opened by Emma Celeste Lope Retuerto, OVERLEAF’s project coordinator from ACITURRI, who provided an overview of the project’s objectives and its ambition to revolutionize hydrogen-powered aviation with an innovative Liquid Hydrogen (LH2) storage tank.

The core of the session was led by Professor Angela Daniela La Rosa, Sustainable Manufacturing professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, who delivered a comprehensive presentation titled “Life Cycle Assessment for Sustainable Development.” She introduced the fundamental principles of LCA, illustrating how this powerful methodology is used to assess environmental impacts from raw material extraction to end-of-life processes. Special emphasis was given to lab-scale LCA, a crucial approach for the eco-design of innovative technologies, including those developed within the OVERLEAF project.

The webinar concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where participants had the opportunity to interact with the speakers and deepen their understanding of LCA applications in aviation.

For those who missed the live event, the full webinar recording is available on the OVERLEAF project’s YouTube channel (click below). Stay tuned for the next sessions in the series, where we will continue to explore groundbreaking methodologies and results from the project!
